6 year old son being held out of Kindergarten school for vaccines

He just had a round of shots and has 2 more rounds to go, every 2 months, will be done by December. Now today the principal informed my wife and I that he can't come back on Monday. My son is 6 years old and has Apraxia a speech disorder. So he really needs to be in school. Well I found the state code or law which states "Any pupil entering school or an early childhood program in this state, shall, prior to admission, be required to present to the appropriate school authorities certification from a licensed physician that the child has received or is in the process of receiving adequate immunization against poliomyelitis, diphtheria, pertussis, rubeola, rubella, mumps, tetanus, and varicella, according to recommendations provided by the Department of Health," according to codified state law." So my question here is since it does state " in the process" If we had a doctors note would that not be enough to get him back in school???
