Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on January 21

• Lew Rockwell blog
Having read the notion that Martin Luther King, Jr. Day has something to do with national service, which seems to me to be far off the mark, I asked a representative 62-year old black woman, namely, Mrs. Dorothy Rozeff, what this day meant in her view. Her response was that Martin Luther King, Jr. led a civil rights movement.

Since we have chosen to honor a man for his contribution to advancing the civil rights of American citizens our honor of him must also be for a man who was an adulterer, hypocrite, lier, and who slapped women around.  If you celebrate King you must celebrate the whole man, not some fantasy demi-god.
