Oregon Officials Use Fear to Coerce Parents into Vaccinating Their Children

In Oregon, parents have opted out of vaccinating their children in such large numbers that researchers are growing concerned. A new study concluded that infants on alternative immunization schedules are growing from 2.5% in 2006 to 9.5 % in 2009. While fewer babies in the Northwestern state are being vaccinated, parents are being admonished to stick to the recommended schedule of regular vaccines. The Oregon ALERT Immunization Information System , used to track children born between 2003 and 2009 in Portland, Oregon found trends displaying anti-vaccine attitudes from parents in this metropolitan area.
