Health care spending seen doubling in 10 years

US spending on prescription drugs, hospital care and other health services is expected to double to $4.1 trillion over the next decade, up from $2.1 trillion in 2006, a government report released on Wednesday found.

$4.1T / 300M people in the US today is $13700 per person spent on health care. Even if the population balloons to 400M over the next decade, you're looking at $10K per person. That's $40,000 for a family of 4.

This is not going to happen unless inflation grows out of control, which is entirely possible.
