The cold open begins with Sarah Sherman playing CNN's Wolf Blitzer, who announced that there is a breaking news press conference coming from the Capitol. The scene cuts to Bowen Yang playing Santos, who called a press conference shortly after the expulsion vote.

"This entire country has been bullying me just because I am a proud gay thief," Yang said.

Yang is referencing the House Ethics Committee's findings into Santos last month, which discovered that Santos "blatantly stole from his campaign" and "deceived donors into providing what they thought were contributions to his campaign but were, in fact, payments for his personal benefit." Santos has also pleaded not guilty to 23 criminal counts on allegations that he misled donors, unlawfully received unemployment benefits and charged his donors' credit cards without authorization.

The House voted to expel Santos in a 311-114-2 vote on Friday.
