See, your 12 year-old can already get birth control or an abortion in California without your knowledge or consent, so what's the big deal?

The bill advances now to the Assembly. Vote counts and lists are not yet available on the state's legislation tracking website, and my senator's office hasn't answered my emailed question about his vote.

California law already allows 12-17 year olds to access various forms of healthcare without parental consent, eg: HPV & hep B vaccines, abortion care, birth control, mental healthcare, domestic violence-related care.

SB 866 builds on this existing law to expand vaccine access.
