Google shows off the first fashionable frames for Glass

High fashion, on the other hand, is a whole other kettle of fish. To their credit, the folks at Google seem to recognize their fashionista shortcomings. Partnering with luxury fashion brand DVF, Google has just unveiled the first high-fashion collection of Google Glass headsets.

Hailing technology as "your best accessory," Diane Von Furstenberg (whose name gives DVF its moniker) has long been a proponent of Google Glass, even introducing the augmented reality (AR) headset to the fashion runway back in 2012. With the unveiling of her Made for Glass collection, Von Furstenberg has finally merged her fashion sense with Google's tech savvy. The collection includes a trio of new frames, each of which stand out from the crowd as well as any other AR shades you're apt to find.

The new frames consist of a pair of aviators, gray and elderberry-colored librarian glasses, and a very 80s-looking pair of "orchid mist" colored reflective specs. Each pair will run you a hefty $1,620.
