Texas Congressman Ron Paul says he will make a decision on whether to launch a 2012 presidential bid within the next seven days.

Paul was speaking in Iowa at the opening of his official exploratory campaign office. The Congressman’s team of staff have been preparing with the expectation that he will run, putting everything into place for a 2012 campaign.

“It’s making sure I have the right people in the organization and making sure that we’re organized and ready to go,” Paul told reporters Tuesday.

“I think I’m on the verge of it. I’m pretty good at making this kind of prediction. I predict that within the week I will make a final decision.” the Congressman added.

A 2012 website is now fully operational, with the tag line “Restore America Now”.
