Two of the protesters allegedly involved in hitting Sen. Carl Levin with a pie Monday were arrested last year while protesting U.S. war policy at the senator's office in Lansing.

One protester, Ahlam Mohsen, a Michigan State University senior from Coldwater, was arrested and faces arraignment today on a felony charge of stalking, as well as misdemeanor counts of assault and disorderly conduct, Big Rapids police said. She is accused of throwing the apple pie at Levin after her friend Max Kantar made a lengthy statement at a public event at Peppers Cafe and Deli in downtown Big Rapids.

Kantar, a Ferris State University graduate, and Mohsen, were arrested in January 2009 along with another protester after staging a sit-in at Levin's Lansing office, according to MSU's student newspaper, the State News. The three demanded to talk with the senator about Israeli attacks on the Palestinian-controlled Gaza Strip, but were arrested after refusing to leave when the office closed.
