America in Crisis: America and Natural Law

he Declaration of Independence presupposes natural law: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. held America’s feet to the fires of its natural law-based legal documents: The Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. In his “I Have a Dream” speech, Dr. King told Americans that: “When the architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, they were signing a promissory note to which every American was to fall heir. This note was a promise that all men would be guaranteed the inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness…. Let us not wallow in the valley of despair. I say to you today, my friends, that in spite of the difficulties and frustrations of the moment, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal.’”

Crisis: America

America is in crisis. Having rejected natural law in favor of posiitive law alone (i.e., the decrees of the legislature and the judiciary divorced from natural law standards, which positive law is supposed to live-up to) our nation is now floundering upon the (Nietzchean) seas of the will to power, seas wherein greed and power trumps compassion and justice. War, fear, torture, oppression, colonial occupation.These are but a few of the issues we face. There are three (3) top priorities which the American People must take responsibility to correct if our nation is to become what it is supposed to be: a just and compassionate nation. And if the American People abdicate their responsibity to rise up and put an end to the injustices we perceive. America—as we know it—will cease to exist:

End the wars, end the torture, end the eavesdropping, and end the colonial occupations. End—completely— America’s suport of Israel. Begin a restoration of America’s founding legal and philosophical basis for creating a just society: natural law

Let’s wake up to reality. Natural law is an old, old habitat of the fair and just, the origin of all positive or man-made laws. We left Natural Law long time ago!

Now humankind lives in different worlds, in a different time, under different ways of life that are hardly fair or just, depending on who are those inside the glass we are looking at. To begin with, let’s cite this simple dictum that what is fair to one may be unfair to another.

For example, Obama thinks it is unfair for Sean Hanity to mudsling him in public when he believes that he has a mission from God to change America, but to the conservative talk show host, his mission is to defend the American public by exposing Obama’s delusional obsession to change America from bad to worse. To us victims of 911, blowing up New York was not only an ultimate injustice but also a satanic criminal act perpetrated against mankind, but to Osama bin Laden and his minions, it was a divine justice that their Islam God wanted them to do in the name of Allah!

The essence of Natural Law is multi-dimensional. I am flashing in the screen fairness and justice – among the multifarious fundamental parts of the Law of Nature in the life of humans -- to show how we live these values today under Natural Law that has been long gone! What I just touched is but the tip of the iceberg as we leave Natural Law like how we are leaving soon Earth on the way to the Moon or Mars.

@PureTrust, so you're saying that you want to own the bodies of all fertile women? Wow, scary. I thought natural law would be about personal ownership and individual freedom. But, I guess it's about enslaving the bodies of females and turning them into forced-breeding stock. I have to chuckle when men talk about their freedom at the expense of women's right to self-determination. It's like in the 60s peace and civil rights movements where you have these "idealists" shouting out freedom for all, then leaning over to one of their own members and in the same breath saying "Hey, Girly, what's taking so long with my coffee?". Freedom indeed.

What are the ONLY two reasons for having sex? Aren't they for pleasure and propagation of the race?

If nature didn't want us to have kids, it could have made one of our greatest pleasures to be something else, other than sex.

So, natural law includes propagation of the race, and life for humanity in general, just like it distinctively includes the pleasure of having sex.

If we want to get back to the Natural Law of the Constitutions, we need to get back to all of Natural Law... INCLUDING NO MORE ABORTIONS.

If we don't go all the way, the whole getting back to the Natural Law idea is a farce.
