Imposter First Lady of Venezuela at the White House

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

The legitimate Venezuelan first lady is in Caracas with her husband President Maduro.

The scene in Washington was surreal and farcical, Fabiana Rosales, wife of designated Trump regime puppet/usurper in waiting Juan Guaido with Trump, Pence, and others at the White House.

She looked very young, naive, incredulous, and bewildered about why she was there, a prop for the Trump regime's photo-op, DLT and Pence looking and acting desperate, and why not.

For the past nine weeks, everything they threw at Maduro to try toppling him failed. What Trump regime plotters expected to go smoothly and quickly didn't go as planned.

Maduro has popular and Venezuelan military support, backing for Guaido fading, drawing smaller crowds than earlier in well-to-do neighborhoods.

Maduro's support is concentrated among ordinary Venezuelans in the barrios, main beneficiaries of Bolivarian social programs.

Most Venezuelans revile Guaido, a so-called interim president in name only, his wife simply Mrs. Guaido, a fantasy first lady, not the real thing.

A White House statement announcing her visit repeated long ago discredited Big Lies, Trump falsely blaming Maduro for harm to the country and its people caused by his regime.

Pence sounded buffoon-like, saying "to see (Guaido) and his courageous wife (sic) stand before the crowds (sic) and take that oath of office (sic) under the constitution of Venezuela (sic) was inspiring not just to people across our hemisphere and across this country, but all over the world (sic)."

He's an imposter, president in his own mind, in reality over nothing. His day of reckoning awaits for betraying his country and people.

Trump and regime hardliners falsely called Venezuela a threat to US national security - by presidential decree declaring the Bolivarian Republic an "unusual and extraordinary threat" to the US.

Guaido and Trump regime hardliners failed to three-fourth of the world community, the UN, and most Venezuelans to go along with their scheme.

What's going on was reminiscent of 1980s Contra war planners against Nicaragua. They failed to convince then-Mexican President  Miguel de la Madrid to believe the Sandinistas posed a threat to his country and Texas.

Wanting him to tell Mexicans they posed an invasion threat to the country, he responded saying if he acted on the request, 70 Mexicans would die laughing.

Venezuela is a good neighbor, threatening no one. The US under Republicans and undemocratic Dems threaten everyone everywhere. Trump regime hardline extremists exceed the worst of their predecessors.

With power almost fully restored after three US sabotage attacks on the country's electrical grid since March 7, Guaido's wife on Wednesday dutifully read the Trump regime lines scripted for her, saying:

"80% of the population in Venezuela has no power" - a bald-faced Big Lie.

"They are trying to break our morale" - the remark applying to Trump regime hardliners, not Maduro or other Bolivarian officials.

"They want to submerge us in eternal darkness" - indeed what the Trump regime wants.

"But let me tell you that there is light, and the light is here." In the heart of the beast at the White House, Mrs. Guaido was in the regime's heart of darkness - looking and sounding bewildered, wondering what on earth she was doing there.

Separately on Thursday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Russian personnel intend staying in Venezuela as long as needed.

"Russian specialists...arrived in accordance with the clauses of a bilateral agreement on technical-military cooperation, she explained.

Calling Trump regime criticism "an arrogant attempt" to dictate to sovereign states, she stressed that "(n)either Russia nor Venezuela are US provinces," adding:

"If we talk about the authority, there is no authority in Venezuela except the President's Maduro government."

"Before advising someone to leave somewhere, the US needs to implement its own exit plan from Syria" where it doesn't belong.

"I would advise the (Trump regime) to fulfill promises given to the international community before" illegally meddling in the internal affairs of other countries.
