After reading just 16 pages of the healthcare bill unveiled by House Democrats this week, the Investor’s Business Daily found …a provision making individual private medical insurance illegal. Skeptical that that could not possibly be truth, they …sought help from the House Ways and Means Committee. And, unfortunately, It turns out we were right: The provision would indeed outlaw individual private coverage. The relevant language, which you can find your self on page 16 here, in a section talking about “grandfathering” current private insurance, says.....

There is no greater political smear than accusing someone of being an advocate of judicial activism.But the truth is that both conservatives and liberals do not really disfavor judicial activism. What both the left and the right really dislike is the neutral application of constitutional principles when it thwarts their policy goals.
The Tenth Amendment defines the total scope of federal power as being that which has been delegated by the people to the federal government, and also that which is absolutely necessary to advancing those powers specifically enumerated in the Constitution of the United States. The rest is to be handled by the state governments, or locally, by the people themselves.....
In his 1850 Disquisition on Government,
John C. Calhoun argued that a written constitution would never be
sufficient to contain the plundering proclivities of a central
government. Some mechanisms for assuring consensus among the citizens
of the states regarding “federal” laws would be necessary.
Consequently, Calhoun proposed giving citizens of the states veto power
over federal laws that they believed were unconstitutional (the
“concurrent majority”). He also championed the Jeffersonian idea of
nullification. To Calhoun (and Jefferson), states’ rights meant that
the citizens of the states were sovereign over the central government
that they created as their agent, and could only be so if such
mechanisms – including the right of secession – existed.
Without these political mechanisms the forces of nationalism, mercantilism,
and political plunder would relentlessly reshape the Constitution with
their rhetoric, and their efforts would eventually overwhelm the st

It will only repeal certain portions like Title ii and in the end be worse than REAL ID once the PASS Act is inserted. REAL ID will REMAIN Federal law and will be stronger than before if passed.
