Sergey Lavrov Blasts US-Led Western Duplicity
by Stephen Lendman
America is a killing machine, waging endless wars of aggression on humanity. It's a lying machine, blaming others for its high crimes.
It's impossible for anyone, no matter how well intended, to change longstanding policy long enough to make a difference. They'll be targeted and eliminated for trying.
It's why I believe the only solution is nonviolent revolution, replacing the current debauched system with one serving everyone equitably, not just the privileged few like today.
Dirty business as usual continues because Wall Street and other powerful interests aren't about to give up what's so profitable. Wars, bloated military spending and other policies serving them fatten their bottom line.
On Wednesday, speaking at a Moscow Dialogue for the Future educational program, Sergey Lavrov uncharacteristically blasted US-led Western duplicity, saying:
"This situation is familiar. When the West sets itself a goal to demonize someone, it resorts to outright lies. They may admit it after a while, but it's too late."
"Unfortunately, blatant lies and falsifications are the methods that have been used for a long time. Our Western counterparts have mastered these methods fundamentally. However, if you deceive someone once, you can no longer expect people to believe you."
"The whole propaganda machine is aimed exclusively at demonizing the Syrian government, Russia and Iran as Bashar al-Assad's supporters in his war on terror, at inventing all kinds of false stories that would prove the war crimes committed in eastern Aleppo."
"There were many examples when these attempts were exposed," videos and photos later exposed as fake, claimed Russian and Syrian bombings of civilian targets that never occurred, similar fabrications.
"I have first-hand information provided by humanitarian organizations, which have their representatives in eastern Aleppo," Lavrov explained.
"None of them has confirmed the allegations that atrocities had been committed or that draft-age individuals leaving Aleppo had been abducted."
"On the other hand, employees of these international agencies have to obey orders. They are paid for their work, and when they are ready to offer an impartial assessment, unfortunately, they cannot always share this information in public."
"Nevertheless, I am confident that those who want to know the truth have every opportunity to do so" - meaning reliable independence sources for anyone wishing to go there.
It's unfathomable to me why anyone wastes time with media I call scoundrels for good reason - or believes anything pro-war US officials say.
They suppress hard truths on major issues, especially geopolitical ones - proliferating fake news instead.
I originally set up Steve Lendman blog solely to keep all my articles in chronological order for my own easy reference.
It now gets a respectable audience, though small compared to well-known web sites.
Two years ago it was around 50,000 monthly page views. In recent months, the numbers more than tripled, heading toward 200,000 page views monthly - still fairly modest but moving in the right direction. I have around 10,000 Twitter and Facebook followers combined.
I believe many people are starved for real news, information and analysis on key world and national issues, things affecting their lives, families, welfare and futures.
I feel obligated and honored to be one of the sources providing it - no-holds-barred truth-telling my mission on issues mattering most - polar opposite media I call scoundrels.
