Crypto Players 'Broached' SEC Chair's Removal with White House: Reports
• Financial AdvisorCrypto industry players met with White House officials last week seeking more favorable treatment of the crypto space, with one topic being the possible removal of Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Gary Gensler, according to news reports.
Nearly a dozen crypto executives — including Skybridge founder and Managing Partner Anthony Scaramucci, Ripple Chief Executive Officer Brad Garlinghouse, Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire, Kraken CEO David Ripley and Coinbase Global Chief Legal Officer Paul Grewal — took part in a video call on Thursday in a bid for "a reset of relations" with the current administration, Yahoo Finance reports.
"The executives discussed what they viewed as a lack of coherent regulation of crypto, and, in one case, even broached the removal of Gensler, a persistent foe of the industry," the web publication wrote, without identifying the person calling for Gensler's firing.
