An item here by Dennis Prager that draws our attention to Deuteronomy. what astonishes is that the founders of the USA were deeply informed by it, yet it is generally ignored. In my own personal experience, i always overlooked it and much of the law component of the first five books. I am as guilty as anyone but this tells me that deep contemplation and access to commentary is strongly indicated. it all came from somewhere and this is a good point to start. did anyone else in the same time and place create a comparable body of law, and just how well does the corpus of both Roman Law and Common Law stack up?? Do we know?
