Orichalcum (Greek ?????????? from ????, 'mountain' and ??????, 'copper') was a precious metal, considered second only to gold in value, whose fame is also linked to the legendary lost continent of Atlantis, described by the Greek philosopher Plato in his dialogue Critias.
