As of Thursday, October 13th, 2016, the Pentagon released a leaked video in which they foreshadow an "unavoidable" dystopia. Entitled "Megacities: Urban Future, the Emerging Complexity," this 5-minute video gives a brief snippet of our world in 2030 — and it's not the typical futuristic society one would normally think of.

But is this video really foreshadowing the not-so-distant future? Or is this a reality throughout much of the world? 

Because there is also America 2050, which is the Regional Plan Association's (RSA) national infrastructure planning and policy program, providing leadership on a broad range of transportation, sustainability, and economic-development issues impacting America's growth in the 21st century. 

A major focus of America 2050 is the emergence of "megaregions" — which are large networks of metropolitan areas, where most of the population growth by mid-century will take place. They are also divided into 11 categories nationwide: Northeast, Great Lakes, Piedmont Atlantic, Florida, Gulf Coast, Texas Triangle, Front Range, Arizona Sun Corridor, Northern California, Southern California, and Cascadia.
