Last Friday, a report released by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) resolved the debate forever: the Earth is warming, and humans are the cause. Sea levels will riseit is a question of when and how much, and not if, says Michel Jarraud (Secretary-General of the World Meteorological Organization). Extreme weather, drought in some places, more precipitation in others, changes in the ocean's acidity… the chant has become familiar. But this panel is informed by 2000 scientists from all over the world, many of whom have been studying global warming since before the Panel was established as part of the United Nations in 1988, and many of whom aren't even getting paid.
