A Florida couple says their children were taken by the state because their oldest son was playing alone in the backyard for 90 minutes while they were on their way home.

According to Reason.com, "Cindy" and "Fred" were arrested for negligence after a neighbor called the cops over their 11-year-old son playing alone in the backyard.

The couple says their son played basketball because he didn't have a key for the house, adding that they were delayed by traffic and rain from getting home in time.

The couple says they were "put in handcuffs, strip searched, fingerprinted, and held overnight in jail."
