Church P*ssed Me off this Sunday

My wife and I attend a fairly large church where we live. Since we've been going (for about five years now) we've thoroughly enjoyed it. It has been a tremendous resource to my wife and me since we're fairly newlyweds and several couples in church that we know are as well. The pastor is great, and a firm believer in everything the Bible stands for (or against) which I'm totally on board with. For those of you who aren't religious I'm not trying to preach, just give a little background.

Every Sunday morning prior to the pastor stepping on stage, they have a deacon/usher conduct a congregational prayer. Normally it's something along the lines of "God, please help our leaders make the right decisions, help our troops overseas, forgive us of our sins, etc…" which once again, I'm totally on board with. Even though I don't really support anything the troops do, I can get on board with praying for no harm to come to anyone, because that's the Christian thing to do, right? Ok.

Sunday morning, during the deacon's prayer, he said something along the lines of "And God, please help us prevail against our enemy, ISIS. Help us prevail over ISIS and drive them back and be victorious, blah blah blah…"

Hold on a second....
