Pope Francis Tells the Truth: 'Many Powerful People Want War'

In Vatican city Monday, May 11th, Pope Francis was quoted as saying, "Why do many powerful people not want peace? Because they live off war: the arms industry". The incredible honest comment was made in response to a question asked by one of the 7,000 children attending the audience organized by Peace Factory.

Pope Francis went on to tell the children, "This is serious… Some powerful people make their living with the production of arms… It's the industry of death" A powerful confirmation of what many people think, but have not the guts to say.

The Peace Factory is an independent organization designed to educate children in order to prevent violence; acting as a multi-ethnic bridge in the middle east. Its stated goal is: "promoting peace in the middle east by making connection between people, opening new communication line, making people get to know each other, re-humanize people from "the other side". Iranians, Palestinians, Israelis, Egyptians, Syrians, Lebanese,Turkish, Jordanians and more."

The Pope expressed his approval of the effort saying, "There is so much need for factories of peace, because unfortunately we are never short of war factories" giving credence to the notion that our entire premise of civilization is wrong: "It's easier to fill prisons than help them learn how to make better choices in life," the Pope said.

He then went on to accuse the money system of being a major cause for war: "When we see that everything revolves around money — the economic system revolves around money and not around the person, men and women, but money — so much is sacrificed and war is waged in order to defend the money".
