That is what that whole Beatles song was about, Across the Universe. Jai guru deva om (?? ??????? ?), which roughly translates to: "Glory to the shining remover of darkness!"

Jai guru deva om. Be that stone. Go out and remove some darkness in the world. Don't wait for it to happen. Go out and do it, even if it is just for one person. Go make a positive ripple in this world.

The easiest, and the cheapest way, is with a smile.

Samantha also told me a story in which a smile from a stranger signaled an emotional turning point for her. A bottom. It sent out a ripple: The bottom has passed! We're on a new road now, on the way up. The sun is actually going to shine again.

A stranger's smile on a random street 15 years ago rippled all the way through Taiwan, to ripple in my ear in a story that I took to Boston, then Seattle, and am now rippling out to all of you. Now it is on the internet and is being transmitted to the Universe.
