Department of Justice Reveals Mistake That Lead to Ross Ulbricht's Arrest

• http://thelibertybeat.com, by Derrick Broze

Ulbricht was arrested in October 2013 at the San Francisco Public Library for allegations of drug trafficking, computer hacking, money laundering and engaging in a criminal enterprise. The DOJ stated that they did not violate Ulbricht's 4th amendment rights when they gained access to the Silk Road's servers because they claim they tracked the servers through a leak on the website. The DOJ's statement said the leak was "due to an apparent misconfiguration of the user login interface by the site administrator." This apparent leak lead the authorities to the server through the IP address. On August 21, Ulbricht plead not guilty to new charges of narcotics trafficking, conspiracy to traffic fraudulent identification documents and distribution of narcotics by means of the Internet.
