Manned and unmanned surveillance flights are also patrolling the region, keeping an eye on advancements being made by the ISIS jihadist group that threatens to over run the country. The F-18s took off from the USS George H.W. Bush aircraft carrier that was sent into the Persian Gulf last weekend. Reports confirm the Iraqi government requested all kinds of air support, including fighter jet and drone strikes to assist in combating the terror group.
