"The novel's heroes learned that they should not feel guilt in the face of irrational demands."

All feelings of guilt are simply guides in life. Guilt is something that should only last for a moment. It should be used as an instruction, a method for showing that some kind of change should be made in life. Then the guilt should go away, leaving in its wake the desire to, and the implementing of, CHANGE.

It's about time that Americans feel guilty about the thing they have allowed their Government to become. But the guilt should last only a moment. Changing Government should begin immediately.
