Iran Will Submit Written Promise Never to Seek Nuclear Weapons

• Antiwar.com
Iranian Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi has confirmed that the nation intends to submit a written promise to the UN that their government will never attempt to acquire nuclear weapons.

Details were scant on the matter, but follow a religious fatwa from Ayatollah Ali Khamenei forbidding the acquisition of such a weapon as a binding matter for Iran’s Shi’ite majority.

The promise is hoped to placate Western nations that have been pressing for war against Iran for “seeking nuclear weapons,” even though Western intelligence agencies have repeatedly confirmed that they aren’t.

Is relying on written agreements from Iran like playing Cash Cab with two strikes and 12 blocks left to go?

I'm sure that if Iran submits a written promise not to produce nukes, it will be worth the paper it's written on. Say what?

Why don't they put their mouth where their pen is and BLOW UP THEIR UNDERGROUND MOUNTAIN COMPLEXES, else it's clear they intend to do something they don't want us to be able to verify until it's too late, as in KABOOM.

‘Iran can’t covertly produce atomic bomb’ – US intelligence chief 3.03.2013

Iran cannot produce enough highly-enriched uranium for a nuclear weapon without being found out by the international community, the US National Intelligence Director told Congress. He also countered claims Tehran had decided to build an atomic bomb.

Developments in Iran’s nuclear capabilities intended to “enhance its security, prestige, and regional influence” would ultimately “give the Islamic Republic the ability to develop a nuclear weapon,” US National Intelligence Director James Clapper told a Senate panel during an annual report on global threats on Tuesday.

Despite these advances, "we assess Iran could not divert safeguarded material and produce a weapon-worth of WGU (weapons-grade uranium) before this activity is discovered," he continued.

Clapper further said “we do not know if Iran will eventually decide to build nuclear weapons.”

In the mean time, Israel who refuses to sign the NPT and refuses any and all Inspections continues to want RED LINES drawn in the sand with more American Blood.
