First Graders Handcuffed At Chicago School, Told They Were Going To Prison: Lawsuit

The family of a first grade Chicago Public Schools student who was reportedly handcuffed and told he was going to prison for talking during class filed a lawsuit against the school district this week, and an attorney for the family says he wasn't the only child disciplined in such a way.

The Chicago Tribune reports that LaShanda Smith filed the lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court on behalf of her son, who she claims was one of several 6 and-7-year olds excessively punished by a security guard at Carver Primary School on the South Side.

The school allegedly authorized on-campus security to discipline disruptive first graders,

you educators in charge of  the Chicago school district who handcuffed a first grader are demented. if anyone needs to be handcuffed it's you dumbkuffs.

   What might be expected, Afterall, this is Shi-cago! there are a number of human shi-holes on earth and this has - all of my life, at least - been one of the deapest!

   It was in the 60's, and it remains so!

   Why aren't the people in the streets? Sorry...didn't mean to make you look away from the TV.

    The cops must be proud! As, I am certain, are the school administrators and all the board members. this is probably one kid who would have preferred to be "left behind (alone)".
