Basic human needs. Without them people will fight to survive. FINO (friend in name only) Air, water, and .... food. The three B's of basic human sustenance After that, everything else is just gravy. Without access to theses three things the most base instincts will be stirred, with the mechanism of survival of the fittest kicking in. Herbert Spencer first said that in conjunction with the Charles Darwin theory of evolution and natural selection. Today around the world food prices have soared along with the decline of the U.S. dollar and rise in commodity prices, and people are hungry. And people are angry. And people are desperate. For themselves and for their families.
