Study: Watching TV can cause heart damage

Medical scientists are warning TV watchers that too much time spent in front of the screen can damage the heart. Video gamers and Internet surfers are at risk too. Inflammation brought on by an increased sedentary lifestyle seems to be the cause. And some cardiovascular experts say that not only the heart, but the circulatory system too, is at risk of damage. Those who spend more than four hours a day watching TV, playing video games or surfing the web more than double their chance of death from heart disease.
