New research: Wine can slow aging process

• Terrence Aym
The world's wine drinkers now have something new to toast: each sip may be bringing them extended youthfulness. With the cornucopia of benefits that have already been identified, some researchers, including a team at the National Institutes of Health, turned their focus on the effects red wine might have on skin. They quickly discovered that a substance known as "resveratrol" is contained in grapes seeds and skins. Resveratrol's been shown to improve skin appearance and elasticity, fight free radicals that age the skin and even fend off cancerous skin lesions. The effect is so strong some skin care specialists have advise adding a glass of red wine to the daily diet.
