The greatest victory for the cause of imposing Sharia Law by force was the U.S. government's invasion of Iraq. The U.S.-composed Iraqi constitution explicitly enshrines Sharia as the law of that long-suffering country, which prior to the invasion had a relatively secular government and a sizable Christian population. 

The second-greatest victory for the cause of imposing Sharia at gunpoint was the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan, which likewise resulted in a constitution dictating that Sharia would be the basic law of that country.

Imam Rauf had NOTHING to do with those developments; they were the work of a conspicuously "Christian" Republican President, who was the figurehead for a cynical, power-intoxicated neo-conservative clique.  The Bush family has been indecently close to the Saudi Royal Family for decades; sure, Obama bowed to King Abdullah, but GWB literally kissed Abdullah full on the mouth. While some people think Obama is a Saudi sleeper agent, a far better case can be made that GWB played that role.

When Muslim apologists with an agenda of persuading Americans to open the gates to the Trojan Horse of Islam make statements about how peaceful and democratic Islam is, you better get the boots out.
