Police Arrest More Than 600 at Toronto Summit

Police raided a university building and rounded up hundreds of protesters Sunday in an effort to quell further violence near the G-20 global economic summit site a day after black-clad youths rampaged through the city, smashing windows and torching police cars.

The violence shocked Canada, where civil unrest is almost unknown. Toronto police Sunday said they had never before used tear gas until Saturday's clashes with anti-Globalization activists.

This one's ripe for a class action suit. Rather than 600 people struggling to get the cash for 600 little fights, they need a prominent lawyer to make a class action in the tens or hundreds of millions. S/he can work for a small retainer and big cut. It's a slam-dunk win with all the video evidence and the fact that mainstream media reporters were among the victims. Actually, CTV and CBC did some not toooo bad reporting. I ALWAYS heard them distinguish between the "breakaway mob" and the massive peaceful remainder. This is a small step in the right direction for the MSM. Do they scent their own demise? Are they starting to get with it? Has the free market spoken? Hopefully.
