Seriously? Poll: Most Americans Would Trim Liberties to be Safer

• McClatchy Papers

WASHINGTON — After a recent attempted terrorist attack set off a debate about full-body X-rays at airports, a new McClatchy-Ipsos poll finds that Americans lean more toward giving up some of their liberty in exchange for more safety.

The survey found 51 percent of Americans agreeing that "it is necessary to give up some civil liberties in order to make the country safe from terrorism."

At the same time, 36 percent agreed that "some of the government's proposals will go too far in restricting the public's civil liberties."

The rest were undecided or said their opinions would depend on circumstances.

The Federal Government dominated American "Education" system has produced a nation of shallow fools and cowards. This is not an accident; this was their intention.

Read John Taylor Gatto's excellent book: "The Underground History of American Education" if you want to know how they are doing this.

Sad ain't it?  That's speaks volumes about the IQ of the average American and also explains why the country is in the mess it's in.  Just give Americans reality TV shows, plenty of Bud Light in a can, gas for their SUVs, plenty of McDonald's and foreign lands to bomb and they're as happy as all hell and oblivious to their surroundings or what is being done to them or in their name.

You have a better chance of being struck by lightning or winning the mega million lottery than being killed by a terrorist. I would never give up my liberties for safety. These people are a bunch of cowardly sheep that will get neither and destroy this country in the process.
