Establishment Media Back Fascism Over Freedom

Establishment media are virtual house organs for wealth, power, and privilege — dismissive of democratic values, the rule of law, and public welfare, notions they deplore.

The CIA orchestrated coup in Bolivia denied Evo Morales a fourth term in office he legitimately won.

Trump regime-backed fascists usurped power, supported by the country's military, police, and Western major media, cheerleading what demands denunciation. More on their latest propaganda below.

Days before the October 20 election, the Center for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR) explained positive economic changes in Bolivia under Morales.

A "commodities boom" under his leadership was "the driving force" behind Bolivia's economic growth, Latin America's highest in the past five years, CEPR explained, adding:

"Strong economic growth has allowed Bolivia to reduce poverty by 42 percent and extreme poverty by 60 percent since President Evo Morales took office in 2006."

US-installed fascist rule, if holds, will reverse positive gains, handing the country's wealth to corporate America and internal fascist business interests at the expense of ordinary Bolivians.

Morales ended 20 years of loan shark of last resort IMF debt bondage — the predatory agency opposed to policies enabling Bolivian economic growth.

CEPR co-director Mark Weisbrot explained that "Bolivia has shown that it is possible for a small, poor country in South America to make substantial economic and social progress, with macroeconomic stability, solid income growth and redistribution, through a mix of state-led, heterodox economic policies, and markets."

Ordinary Bolivians shared in the  country's economic gains — no longer as long as fascist usurpers hold power.

The NYT falsely called Bolivia "a flawed democracy." The self-styled newspaper of record deplores the notion, cheerleading CIA-installed Bolivian usurpers.

The Times falsely claimed governance under Morales "acquir(ed) authoritarian features…undermining checks and balances and pluralism" — a bald-faced Big Lie.

The Times: Institutions of government under Morales "became extensions of his authority (sic)," adding:

His Movement to Socialism party (MAS) "became (his) war machine, helping him maintain power (sic)."

"The opposition organized peaceful protests across the country (sic), and these protests remained steadfast despite government repression and vitriol (sic). 

"Protesters forced the government to allow an international organization, the Organization of American States, to conduct an audit, which revealed widespread irregularities (sic). 

"As a result, the audit team recommended the country hold a new election."

The above remarks are typical Times reinvented history. Reality on the ground refutes the above fiction.

CIA recruited anti-Morales street thugs were readied to be unleashed when results were announced. Pre-election polls showed Morales headed for reelection.

Langley-orchestrated violence and chaos erupted post-election, continuing against Morales supporters by security forces — elements doing nothing to contest anti-Morales thugs.

No election fraud occurred, no evidence suggesting it. The Washington-based OAS is a longstanding US imperial tool, serving its interests, faking electoral irregularities that didn't occur, providing no evidence backing its fabricated claims.

The neocon/CIA house organ Washington Post hauled out long ago disgraced hardliner Alvaro Vargas Llosa, an anti-populist supporter of predatory market-based policies — preaching the  "entrepreneurial spirit" false gospel, exploiting ordinary people so privileged ones benefit.

He falsely denied a coup in Bolivia occurred, calling reality in the country "fiction," claiming "Morales…tried to engineer a coup, and not for the first time (sic)."

He lied saying "Morales came to power…by Morales-led mobs," citing nonexistent October election "fraud."

He called CIA-recruited hooligans "paramilitary thugs loyal to Morales." His reinvented history of events on the ground read like a Langley press release — beginning-to-end rubbish.

The Wall Street Journal quoted usurper Anez's mass deception, saying:

"The country now demands peace (sic). The country now demands fair and transparent elections (sic). We want to live with freedom and democracy (sic). The coup d'etat was by Evo Morales (sic). He has an outstanding debt with the country (sic)."

Reality on the ground is polar opposite the above remarks. Usurpation denies Bolivians their fundamental rights. 

The scourge of US-installed fascist tyranny illegally seized power.

The coup plot worked, fascist tyranny replacing democratic governance under Morales if it holds.

Resistance against it is strong if sustained, what's crucial to restore what was lost.

Tens of thousands turned out on Friday, demanding Anez step down, wanting democratically reelected Morales restored to the office he democratically won.

A popular anti-coup rebellion against tyranny is needed to reverse what happened.

The struggle for Bolivia's soul continues, the fate of the nation and its people at stake.
