WaPo Invents a Nonexistent Iranian Threat

Trump, neocons infesting his administration, and virtually all House and Senate members are implacably hostile to Iran for its sovereign independence and deference to Israel, wanting its main regional adversary eliminated.

So are media scoundrels, including the neocon/CIA-connected Washington Post.

A soon to be published Carnegie Endowment for International Peace (CEIP) report is titled "Iran's Cyber Threat: Espionage, Sabotage, and Revenge." 

It claims Tehran is "increasingly adept at conducting" these type attacks "against opponents at home and abroad" - providing no evidence it's disruptively used any expertise it may have. 

Citing the CEIP report, the Washington Post claimed nonexistent Iranian cyberattacks on America, providing no evidence backing its spurious accusation.

Instead, it called attacks that never occurred "a reminder that the United States and its allies live in a dangerous electronic ecosystem."

It highlighted nonexistent Russian US election meddling, alleged (not proved) "Chin(ese) theft of American secrets," then aimed at Iran, vilifying the country, claiming an "Iranian Cyber Army defaced dissident Twitter accounts in 2009 and, soon after, websites belonging to Voice of America," adding: 

"(T)he attacks became more serious in 2011, after an Iranian hacker penetrated a Dutch security firm called DigiNotar, opening Gmail users in Iran to government surveillance, citing the CEIP report as its source - providing no evidence supporting its accusations.

WaPo: "(T)he Iranians launched an August 2012 attack on the Saudi Aramco oil company, using a wiper virus known as 'Shamoon,' " adding:

"According to the Carnegie researchers, the attack affected tens of thousands of Saudi Aramco computers and caused tens or even hundreds of millions of dollars in damage."

Again, no evidence supported the accusations. Without it, they're baseless.

Iran, Russia, China, North Korea, Syria, Venezuela, and other sovereign independent nations refusing to bow to Washington's will are relentlessly and falsely accused of all sorts hostile actions - part of a vilification plan to denigrate them, at times as prelude to war.

Media scoundrels like WaPo, the NYT, CNN, the BBC, National Public Radio, and others act as willing co-conspirators, disgracefully reporting disinformation.

WaPo: "Iran successfully attacked" America, falsely saying it targeted "US banks and financial institutions (with a) distributed denial of service…flood(ing) targeted computers with so much traffic that their systems crashed, (doing) a surprising amount of damage."

The accusation was fake news. Last January, WaPo accused Russia of attacking Vermont, claiming it penetrated its power grid - an updated version of an earlier fake news story, saying Russian hackers penetrated the nation's electric grid.

Then last June, WaPo claimed "(h)ackers allied with the Russian government have devised a cyberweapon that has the potential to be the most disruptive yet against electric systems that Americans depend on for daily life, according to US researchers."

It was a bald-faced lie. No Russian threat to America's power grid or anything else in the country exists.

Nor a similar Iranian, Chinese, or any other country threat. When made, they're willful deception. 

Burlington Electric exposed the phony Russian hacking Vermont accusation, explaining malware was found on a single laptop not connected to its power grid.

A company statement said:

"(W)e took immediate action to isolate the laptop and alerted federal officials of this finding."

The incident had nothing to do with alleged hacking by Russia or any other country. Blaming Moscow, Tehran, Beijing or other countries for cyberattacks entirely lack credibility.

No evidence backs the claims. Americans can relax. They face no cyber or any other threats from abroad - only from their own government, at war on humanity worldwide.

Claimed Russian, Iranian, Chinese and other alleged foreign threats are nonexistent - invented to vilify these countries, a fear-mongering scam to justify unjustifiable militarism and belligerence.

WaPo: "Iran has an arsenal of cyber-stones, so to speak, ready to throw. The United States, meanwhile, lives in the world's biggest glass house."

America hasn't faced a homeland threat since the mid-19th century Civil War. During WW II, Nazi Germany and imperial Japan had no way to attack the US mainland.

No nations threatened America from that time to now. Claims otherwise are Big Lies.
