An Election Day Parody

"Now Barabbas was a robber."  What words in all of human writ elicit such stark pathos than these five words when once one realizes that on the most important election day in the history of the human race, an entire nation chose a thief over the most truthful, most innocent, and just man who ever walked on the face of the earth. Even his judge said in the presence of his rabid accusers, "Why, what evil hath he done?"  But they had no concern for the truth as, "they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified!"

The only thing left in the mind of the bewildered judge was to ask for a basin of water and as he washed his hands before the multitude he said, "I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it. Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.  Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.

The wisest man who ever lived, outside of our Lord Jesus, said, "The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be…" (Ecc. 1:9a).  And so more than two-thousand years later in a land approximately eight-thousand miles from that awful scene, before our eyes we see this script being played out in great detail, except the character's names have changed.  Yes, we see Pilate (FBI Director Comey) grappling with Truth, which is once again on trial.  And he makes the startling confession that the truth is, crimes have been committed, but inadvertently.  But unfortunately, others that have committed even lesser crimes, even inadvertently are in prison for their crimes.

But as Pilate had a wife who tried to warn him to, "Have thou nothing to do with that just man," it is reported that Comey's wife and many honest FBI agents warned him of his wrong decision.  So knowing the truth, he made a 180 degree turn a week before the election and sent a letter to Congress stating that tens of thousands of e mails had been found by the alleged robber and that the FBI had reopened the investigation.  But as Pilate, under pressure from the mob, who was calling for the death of Truth, he made another 180 degree turn and publicly announced three days before the election that the FBI found no problems with the new e mails that had been found on a pervert's laptop, and the original July decision stands.

Then he calls for the basin of water and declares that he, the FBI, and the U.S. Justice Department was innocent of the principle of law in this case, because after all they had properly done their diligence in this matter, so how could anyone blame them.

But as Israel of old had a custom, so does America today.  Pilate said, "Ye have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the Passover: will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews?   Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. "

What will America do today, on this election day, Nov. 8, 2016?  Will it be Truth or Barabbas?Because we to must make a decision as we go to the polling place as to whom we will release,  Will it be Truth (the little innocent ones, including the partial birth babes who get the spike driven into their temples in the womb?), or Barabbas, the thief and murderer.  Once again, it is Barabbas or Christ.  Which will it be?  Will the blood of these innocents be on us and our children?  America, the choice is ours.
