Melania Trump talked about the importance of unifying the nation at a time when her husband's MAGA supporters are causing division in the Republican Party.

'We must unite in our effort to establish a society where equality is the everyday experience of every American,' the former first lady told Fox News Digital. 'Individual freedom provides a unifying set of principles, and ultimately establishes our American way.'

'Together, we must nourish and safeguard the seeds of liberty,' she continued. 'Because, when successful, America blossoms into a magnificent place where everyone can practice their beliefs, share new ideas, and express individualism — this is when we are our best.'

Melania Trump's comments came as Donald Trump sits in a New York courtroom watching jury selection as he faces felony charges related to a hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels.

Melania has not been at her husband's side during the trial and distanced herself from the case. Sources close to her told DailyMail.com she is following the news but is likely angry that Trump drug their son Barron into the case. 

And she made her call for unity as a third House Republican joined an effort to oust Speaker Mike Johnson, citing outrage over Johnson's decision to move forward on aid to Ukraine. Several conservatives object to sending more money to the wartorn nation.

In the interview, the former first lady also outlined what she would do if she returns to the White House.
