Former U.S. President Barack Obama and his then-CIA Director John Brennan called on their partners in the "Five Eyes" intelligence agencies to illegally spy on Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign, according to a new report.

A report posted on Michael Shellenberger's Public Substack on Monday, written alongside Matt Taibbi and Alex Gutentag, explained "multiple credible sources" came forward about the "illegally mobilized foreign intelligence agencies" used to target Trump advisors.

The alleged abuse of power took place "long before the summer of 2016," which means the "Russian collusion" hoax hadn't taken place.

According to the sources, Obama and Brennan had the "Five Eyes" intelligence agencies of America, Canada, Australia, U.K. and New Zealand in on the plot to make contact with and manipulate a select group of 26 Trump associates.

This ended up turning into the infamous "Russian collusion" anti-Trump hysteria as that whole operation began when Australian intelligence claimed a Trump aide had boasted about Russia having blackmail material on Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

There is no telling if the aide ever made the remarks or if the claim was curated just to spark the Russia witch hunt, and the public deserves to know if the Trump aide in question was one of the 26 reportedly targeted by the CIA.

The Public sources also said Trump ordered a 10-inch binder of details about the FBI investigation into his campaign and CIA surveillance of the campaign to be declassified at the end of his term.

Of course, the documents were never released and CIA and NSA officials "strenuously objected" to releasing the information, claiming it would reveal sources and methods used by the agencies.

In December of 2023, CNN reported, "A binder containing highly classified information related to Russian election interference went missing at the end of Donald Trump's presidency, raising alarms among intelligence officials that some of the most closely guarded national security secrets from the US and its allies could be exposed, sources familiar with the matter told CNN."
