Italian designers have drawn up plans for an outlandish Turtle-shaped floating city that would cost £6.8 billion to build.

The concept of the 'terayacht', called the Pangeos, would be run on solar power and feature hotels, shopping centres and parks.

The floating city would accommodate 60,000 guests and even include a runway for planes as well as helicopter pads, Italian design studio Lazzarini said.
