Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky was involved in a car accident when a vehicle smashed into his motorcade in Kyiv, but he has left unscathed.

According to a statement from the president's press secretary, "a car collided with the car of the President of Ukraine and escort vehicles."

His press secretary Sergii Nykyforov wrote on Facebook that he was not "seriously injured".

He continued: "Medics accompanying the head of state provided the driver of the car emergency assistance and he was put in an ambulance.
