Minerals for "Clean Energy" Tech "involves harmful sourcing, increased greenhouse gas

• Activist Post - B.N. Frank

Mining for ingredients needed to make electric vehicles (EV), solar panels, wind turbines, and other technology has environmental (see 1, 2, 3) and humanitarian consequences (see 1, 2).  That's why these ingredients are sometimes referred to as "conflict minerals" (see 1, 2, 3, 4).  Nevertheless, EVs, solar panels, wind turbines, and even utility "Smart" Meters continue to be referred to as "clean" or "green" technology by proponents who encourage mandating their deployment often using taxpayer dollars (see 1, 2, 3) without first addressing these issues and others (see 1, 2, 3, 4).
