Saturday Night Live opened its show this week with a sketch featuring President Joe Biden's efforts to fight Russia's disinformation campaign over Ukraine, suggesting a high schooler would have more success. 

The show starts in the Oval Office with President Biden, played by James Austin Johnson, being briefed by three advisers, two from his cabinet and one from the military, on Russia's increasing military presence in Ukraine.  

Referring to the actual President's recent comments on sending U.S. troop to Eastern Europe, Johnson's Biden asks whether NATO forces are 'ready to back us up' as the world awaits a possible invasion of Ukraine from Russia.  

The military official, played by Kenan Thompson, tells the fake President that every member country of NATO supports the U.S. in a potential military invention except Germany. 

'Oh man, if Germany doesn't want to go to war, you know it's bad,' Johnson's Biden says. 

The two cabinet advisers, played by Ego Nwodim and Alex Moffat, intervene and reassure the president by telling him that Russia's military presence on the Ukrainian border 'may be the least of our problems' and that they should be more concerned about Russian disinformation on social media that has left Ukrainians unsure about what to believe.

'Russia tried that during our last election, too. But it didn't work,' Johnson's Biden says.
