President Donald Trump blasted New York Attorney General Letitia James' "partisan witch hunt" in a statement Wednesday after her office announced it's actively pursuing criminal charges against the Trump organization.

In a 900-word letter released at DonaldJTrump.com, Trump railed against James who he says vowed to use her office to target him even before she was elected.

"The Attorney General made each of these statements, not after having had an opportunity to actually look at the facts, but BEFORE she was even elected, BEFORE she had seen even a shred of evidence," the 45th US president wrote. "This is something that happens in failed third world countries, not the United States."

"There is nothing more corrupt than an investigation that is in desperate search of a crime," wrote Trump.

Trump went on to call out the investigation as a "political and partisan Witch Hunt" being conducted while the crime rate in New York City skyrockets and people are leaving the city in droves.

He also claimed the investigations into him are ramping up because "these Democrats want to silence and cancel millions of voters because they don't want 'Trump' to run again."
