This was announced by Attorney General Merrick Garland to House lawmakers, adding that this figure would be within the budget of the Department of Justice (DOJ), according to Breitbart on May 4.

The budget: "It includes increases of $45 million for the FBI domestic terrorism investigations and $40 million for the U.S. attorneys to manage increasing domestic terrorism caseloads," Garland said. 

For her part, author Kristina Wong notes that "Democrats have sought to label Trump supporters who protested on January 6 at the Capitol as domestic terrorists, domestic violent extremists, and white supremacists."
