It is the most open, fair, and efficient marketplace for digital goods ever created, with an incentive design encouraging it to become the most complete. Many see this app as a decentralized replacement for youtube with the ability to monetize content through crypto, resistant to censorship and blocking. Lbry is NOT truly decentralized because it is owned by a corporation. I see this morning that the author has posted a partial retraction. "While initiating use of the program the first time I ran into a request for an email with no obvious way around it. After re-entering the program, it didn't bother me about an email. So, I may continue to give it a try, with blatant disregard for the DMCA. Too late edit the article, so this is my formal correction to that point."
