Even as GMA reported Whisenants death was being investigated as a crime,  the FBI seems to have already decided the death of a federal prosecutor under mysterious and highly suspicious circumstances, did not require the assistance of federal law enforcement and advanced crime lab forensics.

Following months of media silence and prima facie circumstances that fail to suggest a finding of self-inflicted gunshot, the death of federal prosecutor, Beranton Whisenant, Jr. inexplicably ruled a suicide.
