Stripped-Down Super Smash Bros. Now Available for TI Calculators

• http://www.modernreaders.com, By Mark Kesler

The programmer, who goes by the name "Hayleia," announced the new "Smash Bros." version for Texas Instruments graphing calculators, with the word "Super" likely removed as it's a bare-bones version of the game, with naturally lower-end graphics and only two playable characters, Fox and Falco.  The project was actually announced in late August of this year on the Omnimaga forums, though it's only gotten attention three months after the fact due to Super Smash Bros.'s upcoming November 21 release date for Wii U.

According to Hayleia, the game works in both solo and multiplayer modes, and can be played at 15 MHz with a "complicated" game map, or 6 MHz for a simpler, less intricate map that only has rectangles in it.  The latter mode is slower, though Hayleia says it's still "very playable."  The source code is also open, allowing other developers to edit it to their liking.
