Wall-crawling robo-squid concept will keep your home squeaky clean

If you're the sort of person who easily gets irked by the cobwebs that seemingly pop up overnight in your home's hardest to reach corners, then you just might leap at the chance to get your hands on a house-dusting robot.

Thought up by Turkish designer Rana Alper, Tody is designed to be the ultimate Roomba. Its four tentacle-like limbs each sport 22 steam nozzles, 29 vacuum nozzles and thousands of tiny adhesive pads, similar to those on the feet of a gecko. In theory, Tody's limbs would allow it to not only climb your walls, but your windows, furniture and curtains as well. It'll even be capable of steam-cleaning your ceilings and the underside of your furniture.

Programming your robo-squid is done through simple voice commands. You can even tell it to hide itself away when you're in the room or when company is about to arrive. As part of this year's Electrolux Design Lab competition, Tody is very much still a concept. Still, as concepts go, we could imagine this house-cleaning squid fitting right in with the lawn mowing and floor cleaning robots that we already have around the house.
