Reports pump fuel into iCar gossip: Apple 'in talks' with Tesla

The San Francisco Chronicle suggested that Apple and Tesla met last year to discuss a possible link-up.
Citing an unnamed source, it claimed Apple's merger and acquisitions chief, Adrian Perica, met with Tesla CEO Elon Musk in October.
Although neither company has commented on the rumours, Apple has long been interested in cars. It filed a number of patents for automobile-related stuff, including a touchy-feely dashboard-mounted fondleslab and a device to stop fanbois from losing their vehicle inside a car park.
