Are we prepared for dealing with the prospect that humanity is not the end of evolution?

Technocalyps is an intriguing three-part documentary on the notion of trans-humanism by Belgian visual artist and filmmaker Frank Theys.

The latest findings in genetics, robotics, artificial intelligence, bionics and nanotechnology appear in the media every day, but with no analysis of their common aim: that of exceeding human limitations.

The director conducts his inquiry into the scientific, ethical and metaphysical dimensions of technological development. The film includes interviews by top experts and thinkers on the subject worldwide.

This is just a preview. The full documentary is not available at this moment. You can buy the DVD from Amazon.com.

Why of course we are evolving. But we are evolving downward, not upward. we are declining, not advancing. Humanity becomes less and less capable, year by year, to do anything more than propagate. To see this, all you need do is look at the feats of strength and engineering done in the past.

Look at the Great Pyramid, and the other pyramids. Without all the marvels of modern technology, simply with brain power and brute strength, they muscled those great monuments of the past into place. We are so mentally and physically weak today that we can barely imagine that people of the past could be that strong and capable without all the computers and machines of modern day to help them.

But, you say, we have computers, and all kinds of marvelous inventions that people of the past never invented. Ask yourself, why didn't they invent them? It was because they DIDN'T NEED them. What would they need them for, since they could think and act with human brains and muscles possibly better than we can act with the computers and machines? What did they need these things for? They didn't. Are our lives really any better because of these things?

The reasons that we invented them now are because we have declined so far in strength and brain power that only a few of us can think and act as well as almost all of the ancients of 4000 years ago could think and act. We have declined so extremely much that we need the computers and machines almost just to live.

The greatest advantage that we gain from declining is that we are not as able to harm each other as readily as people of the past. If we didn't have torture methods of the past written in books, and examples of torture machines in places like museums and Guantanamo, we would have a truly hard time inventing them. So our decline into stupidity does have some advantages.

The greatest DISadvantage that we have from the decline is that we are forgetting the religious aspect of our lives. We are failing to see that there has to be a God in all things... that there is no other way than God for any of this to exist. We are trading intelligence for materialism.

Unlike the false advancing set forth by the evolutionists, we have left a trail of decline visible in the history of the last 4500 years. This trail of decline can be readily seen in all the wars, death and destruction human kind has been through. People come and go. They live and die, they build nations and great works, and then it all crumbles and fades away.

But look for advancement in the evolutionary process. There isn't any. There aren't any intermediate fossils. The handfuls of bones that evolution scientists try to claim as missing links, can be attributed to multitudes of other things that have nothing to do with evolution.

No. Our modern idea of evolution is badly mistaken. In the face of untold evidences of decline all around us, we are so "devolved" that we can only see advancement. No wonder we have political problems. We don't want to look at the truth. It's amazing that we exist and live at all!
